EVANGELINE LILLY "almost died' in a mountaineering accident earlier this year (06), when she slid over a crevice. The LOST actress was climbing the 12,000 foot (3,657 metre) tall Mount Baker in her native Canada with her father when, on the descent, she decided to slide down on her bottom.Speaking on US TV programme THE ELLEN DeGENERES show, Lilly says, "I had a really scary incident on the mountain which I haven't told the people I love. I almost died on that hike."I got to the top and I really didn't enjoy the ascent. I actually slid down on my bum most of the way, screaming and hollering. When I was sliding on my butt going down Mount Baker, an active volcano, I slid over a crevice."My legs went down into the crevice, my upper body flew over a snowbridge that just happened to be there. I was dangling."I almost died."

Washington, Oct 5: 'Lost' star Evangeline Lilly wishes security on flights hadn't recently been tightened, for she misses carrying her hand cream which she uses to moisturize her nasal cavities when airborne.
According to new aviation security measures, passengers are not allowed to carry any "liquid items" in the luggage they take onto the plane along with them. And the actress is really frustrated she can no longer bring any lotion on the flights to keep illness at bay.
"I use Neutrogena hand cream up my nose on a plane to prevent myself from getting sick. A lot of people think that when you onto a plane you get sick from the germs in the air, but that's not it because there are always germs in the air," Contactmusic quoted her, as telling US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres.
"You get sick because on the plane the air conditioning dries out your nose and your nose actually cracks on the inside and the open wounds inside your nose then accept the germs and you get sick," she added.
"I know it's true because in using my hand cream up my nose I prevented myself from getting sick in an entire season of Lost, season two. Season three, can't use the cream, get sick every time I fly. I think I've tapped into some secret source of information for nostrils... I'm really frustrated that I can't bring it on the planes at this point," she concluded.(ANI)
